Co-organizers: owner, admins and arbiters
Who may do what in a group, how to invite admins and arbiters by email, change their roles, leave a group and transfer its ownership.
Roles
- Owner: everything, including roles, full names, anonymizing players, deleting the group and handing it over. A group has exactly one owner.
- Admin: players, group settings, invitations of arbiters, and tournaments: create and set them up, pair, publish, results, finalize, corrections and TRF export.
- Arbiter: pairings and results: pair and publish rounds, lineups, results, requested byes, withdrawals and late entries. Arbiters do not create, finalize or export tournaments, and do not add players.
The Members tab lists everyone with their role.
Inviting a co-organizer
- Open the group's Members tab.
- Under Invite a co-organizer enter the Email address and choose the Role. The owner invites admins and arbiters; admins invite arbiters.
- Press Send invitation. We email a link that is valid for 7 days.
Pending invitations are listed below the form; Withdraw cancels one.
Accepting an invitation
- Open the link in the email.
- Sign in with the address the invitation was sent to. No account yet? Choose Create an account with that address and confirm it from the email we send you.
- Press Accept invitation.
An invitation works once, for its address only, within 7 days.
Changing roles
- The owner changes a member's role in the Members list: choose the role and press Change. Remove takes a member out of the group.
- An admin or an arbiter can leave with Leave this group; they need a new invitation to come back.
- When a member leaves or is removed, the invitations they sent that are still pending end.
Transferring ownership
- The new owner must already be a member, as admin or arbiter, and must have confirmed their email address.
- As owner, open Settings and press Transfer ownership, or use the link in the Members list.
- Choose the New owner, tick the confirmation and press Transfer ownership.
The new owner gets every right and you take over their previous role. The owner cannot leave a group without transferring it first.
